Every morning the first thing the students do is get their materials out of their book bag and then hang their book bag up
Then they go to the lunch stationand find their clip with their number and place it on which lunch choice they would like
If students are ready for an AR test, they put their book in the back and wait on me to call them to the computer
Students should be working on morning work if they arn't taking an AR test
WALKING IN HALLWAY
"Left hand hip-Right hand lip"
Students walked in a single file line
Were not allowed to talk in the hallway
IN CLASS
When students have a question... they must be seated raising their hand \
Students may use the bathroom whenever they need to (bathrooms are inside the classroom)
Placement 2:
I am in a Resource/ Co-Teaching classroom. She has about six students to come to her for about thiry minutes. The students come in and sit at the table and just talk until my teacher is ready to start. I feel like the students don't show her any respect. She gives them tally marks if they are misbehaving, but that doesn't affect the students. I think the main reason the tally marks don't affect them is because their is no consequence if they get the tallies. She doesn't talk to them after class sometimes she will put a smiley face on their behavior chart. I think some of the behavior problem is from boredum. The students do the same exact thing in her classroom everyday. They do reading out of the SRA book. I feel like if she changed up the lesson, that would improve some behavior problems.
I tried a behavior plan that my supervisor recommended. I went to interventioncentral.org and did a survey about my students. Based on my answers, the website gave me a list full of reinforcers. This has work great!! One student use to walk into class and tell us to go ahead and write his name down and add two bad tallies. He just was not motivated to work or behave no matter what we did.Once I introduced the reinforcers to my class, it was like night and day with their behavior. The deal was if by the end of class, if the individual student has one or less tallies they were able to choose something off of the reinforcer menu. Some reinforcers were; computer time, teacher writes a good note to parents, listen to music, student reads aloud to class, or teacher reads aloud toclass. Everyday ten minutes before class was over, they got to choose which reinforcer they wanted that day. If the student had two tallies, they had to continue working. This really worked well with all the students. They learned real fast that it wasn't fun watching everyone else get to play, while they had to remain working.
When the kids are quiet at their desk, the little critters come out and sit on the quiet students desk!!
Each stick has an activity that last less than 1 minute (macarena, spin 3 times, jump rope) and it used when the class starts to fade :)
When students are finished with their work, have them go to the "I'm Done" jar. More exciting than just having them "read a book."
Great for lining up!
For when students need to use the bathroom, they just clip the pin to their shirt.
